GTLAX Game Report - April 29

Surely you are familiar with "Friday Nite Lights", well the LAX version is called "Thursday Nite Lights", and for Thunder's Nick Kraft it was lights-out in the fourth quarter as he collided head-to-head with Max Brauer, from the Barons. It was one of the scariest things I have ever seen in Lacrosse. A bit dazed as well, Brauer was attended to by the trainer and escorted to the bench, however Kraft left by ambulance for precautionary measures. A weeks' rest should hopefully see Nick back on the field in good repair.

Oh yeah, the game. Senior Mason Rosso was in the lineup for Thunder and saw his first minutes of the season. It was a 7pm start under the lights on the turf @ Brighton and it must have been milkbone night as there were dogs everywhere. Thunder got dogged 18-4 and left with their tails between their legs. Ground balls and face-offs were even, but the aggressive defense for Brighton limited Thunder to only 11 shots, compared to 22 on cage for the Barons.

It was 6-0 Barons at the end of the first and 10-1 by the half, with the lone goal for Thunder compliments of Matt Keough, assisted by Gino Prestigiacomo (3a). Thunder managed three more in the third as Anthony Merola, Joe Trimboli, and Nick Kraft (first varsity goal) each found the back of the net, but that was all she wrote for the men in purple.
